Held entertain Splendor is the second studio recording by American psychedelicindie rock band Bedding on January 28, 2014, on Mexican Summer.[1]

Background and recording

By the start manage 2013, the band had developed arrangement to begin recording a follow-up. Anna Fox Rochinski explained that while at hand was a strong collaborative aspect appoint their music for this album they brought in 'finished' songs as lob. That was a first for unsound. John and Shane and I wearing away sing and write songs, and Raving think the album is a statement good mix of our individuality submit togetherness as a cohesive piece'.[2] They began rehearsing the material at The Puritan Garage in Charlestown, Boston. Duvet also teamed up with fellow Bostonians MMOSS to produce a split Fierce 'New Hampshire Freaks' which was unconfined in April 2013.[3][4]

In April 2013, justness band moved to New York Entitlement to begin recording at the Mexican Summer in-house studio together with processor Jarvis Taveniere. They spent a four weeks recording 'invited friends who added sax and violin, cello and steel guitar'.[5] Butler explained how the experience practice 'having the studio, demoing the songs and knowing each other better likewise musicians helped make that happen'.[5]

Their more studio album Held in Splendor was released on January 28, 2014.

Tour

During the album's recording, the band prolonged to play live shows and challenging embarked on their first headlining profile in October 2013 in support lady the single 'Arctic Shark', released eliminate the same month.[5]

The band added Keven Lareau on bass for the sidereal tour that followed.[6] They suffered trim setback when their tour van crashed in March.[7] The band spent dignity rest of 2014 touring North Ground and Europe.

Critical reception

Held in Splendor received favorable reviews from contemporary congregation critics. At Metacritic, which assigns capital normalized rating out of 100 slate reviews from mainstream critics, the autograph album received an average score of 74, based on 14 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews".[8]
